El trauma de la tortura por razones políticas tiene un impacto profundo en la organización funcional y social del individuo. Como el cuerpo es central durante la experiencia de la tortura por ser el lugar físico y psicológico del ataque del torturador y corporizar al mismo tiempo a la cultura que se ataca, la profundidad del dolor hace estallar el interior del cuerpo, y su relación con el exterior y los otros. De esta manera el sobreviviente de tortura ha vivido una ruptura de límites que genera secuelas de extrema gravedad ya que la relación con el si-mismo y los otros se ve afectada de manera dramática. Danza/movimiento terapia se ubica en el mismo lugar del sufrimiento a través de la empatía kinestésica y propone que la reparación de límites dañados permita el flujo secuencial del movimiento y la actividad  entre el interior y el exterior. Este abordaje interactivo incluye la expresión del cuerpo-en-movimiento, la expresión emocional empática y la reflexión y se lo considera muy productivo porque genera calidad de vida, al impulsar la integración física, emocional, cognitiva y social del individuo.

The trauma of torture under political reasons has a profound impact in the functional and social organization of individuals. During torture the body is central to the experience as the physical and psychological site of the torturer’s attack and as the embodiment of a culture under attack, so, the unbearable pain ruptures the body interior and its exterior relationships.  In this way, Survivors of torture lived ruptures boundaries and fragments of individual relationships to self and others. This study demonstrates how Dance/movement therapy works troughs attuning to the rhythm and body organization of the survivor at the some place were the suffering is installed allowings the sequential flows of movement. This interactive way promotes the body’s movement expression, the emphatic emotional expression and the reflection. Dance/movement therapy, following the experience of torture, can be beneficial in rebuilding an individual’s sense of integration and creating a better quality of life.
