El presente estudio gira en torno a las siguientes cuestiones: 1) ¿qué importancia revisten las vanguardias artísticas de comienzos del siglo XX respecto de los modos actuales de representar el mundo? y 2) ¿de qué manera se puede vincular la modalidad propia de la representación artística a la concepción postcartesiana del sujeto? Así, la tesis que remarca la existencia de una ligazón inmediata entre modo de representar y concepción de la subjetividad abre una tercera cuestión: 3) ¿puede haber otra modalidad de la representación que no sea subjetiva, entendiendo por ‘subjetivo’ todo aquello que tiene su origen (y su destino) en el sujeto? En el campo de las vanguardias literarias latinoamericanas, la estética creacionista esbozada por Vicente Huidobro entre 1915 y 1920 constituye, en tanto cuestionamiento de la mímesis representativa, un inicio de respuesta a los anteriores interrogantes.

The present study revolves around the following criteria: 1) How important are the artistic avant-garde of the early twentieth century with respect to the current ways of representing the world? and 2) How can the proper modality of artistic representation be linked to the post-Cartesian conception of the subject? Thus, the thesis that emphasizes the existence of an immediate link between the way of representing and the conception of subjectivity opens a third question: 3) can there be another modality of representation that is not subjective, understanding by 'subjective' everything that has its origin (and its destiny) in the subject? In the field of Latin American literary avant-garde, the creationist aesthetic outlined by Vicente Huidobro between 1915 and 1920 constitutes, as a questioning of representative mimesis,a beginning of response to the previous questions.
